In addition to a new website design and a logo for the networking infrastructure, we have been busy preparing content for our interested readers on the topic of digital education over the past weeks and months.
OER stands for Open Educational Resources and has the potential to increase access to education and promote the diversity of educational content. "Mein Bildungsraum" is a key building block in the creation of a diverse digital ecosystem, as its infrastructure components enable low-threshold access to educational programmes.
To achieve a minimal viable product (MVP) status by the end of September, a total of six mini-competitions have been organised under the dynamic procurement system and nine development teams have been commissioned.
“Update, transfer, connect and have fun” was the motto of the “Mein Bildungsraum” Developer Days (DevDays) at the beginning of April. The aim was to work together in the engine room of the digital network infrastructure for education.
Last week, Dr Jens Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), presented the nationwide “OER-Strategie – Freie Bildungsmaterialien für die Entwicklung digitaler Bildung” (in English “Free Educational Materials for the Development of Digital Education”). With this strategy, the BMBF aims to promote the modernisation of the German education landscape and strengthen digital skills for all.
As a kind of meta-platform, “Mein Bildungsraum” is intended to bundle digital education programmes and create a nationwide teaching and learning infrastructure with additional functionalities and services.
